Straight stitches can be easily combined with cross stitches or box stitches for greater impact.

Want to change the impact of your straight stitches?  Use different number of strands, vary the color and even mix a little metallic thread with your yarn.  You be amazed at the effect you can create.

It is important to consider the type of needlepoint canvas to use in order to create a special effect.  Keep in mind, that the gauge of the canvas will determine the thickness, or wight of the yarn you need to use for the project.
